Our volunteers serve both physically and financially to make our projects possible.

Apart from traveling abroad to work on the construction of our water and sanitation projects, BLUE volunteers also fund our projects through their fundraising efforts known as - The Community Contribution Fee (CCF). Separate from the trip cost, this fee helps us buy materials, and hire workers in the field in order to construct the gravity-driven aqueducts and pit latrines volunteers help build for our benefiting communities.

If you are signed up for a water project, your CCF is $650. If you are signed up for a sanitation or filter project, your CCF is $450. Every penny goes directly towards the project!

THE CCF BREAKDOWN:

01. Volunteers are encouraged to fundraise their CCF on our custom fundraising platform.

  • Even if you have the financial means to pay the fee out-of-pocket, we want to challenge you to raise the funds instead. Gaining support from others for something you’re passionate about is a skill that everyone can benefit from learning. Besides that, by asking others to support your fundraiser, you are teaching more people about the water and sanitation crisis and inviting them to get involved. You can do it!

(If you choose to fundraise offline, please let us know.)

02. Volunteers have until May 1st, 2024 to fundraise their CCF.

  • That gives you plenty of time to share your personal fundraising page, spread the word, and fundraise your goal amount. If volunteers do not fundraise their goal by the deadline, the credit card on file will be charged the remaining difference on May 10, 2024.

  • Go above and beyond! Volunteers that raise over $750 receive a limited edition BLUE Missions hydro-backpack.

03. We are here to help!

From now until your trip, we are here to support YOU. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, ideas, or comments about the CCF. We are expert fundraisers.

100% of your donations will go directly to the field.

After our campaign ends on May 1, 2024, we’ll send 100% of your donations to the Dominican Republic to fund the water or sanitation project you will be working on! In a few weeks time, you will see how your fundraising efforts contributed to the project and the future of the community.

(NOTE: Any donations fundraised over the goal amount can not be transferred to the trip cost. If you wish to fundraise the trip cost separate from CCF, you cannot do so on our fundraising platform. You can create a fundraising page on GoFundMe and notify our team.)
